Biography

State Sen. Doug Eckerty represents Senate District 26, which is composed of portions of Delaware, Henry and Madison counties. First elected to the Senate in 2010, Eckerty serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environmental Affairs and is also a member of the Senate Committees on Appropriations, Ethics, Local Government, Rules & Legislative Procedure, and Pensions & Labor.

Eckerty has been active in many community organizations including the Madison County Flagship Board of Directors, The Delaware Advancement Corporation Board of Directors, The Business Education Partnership Board, The East Central Association of Life Underwriters, The Million Dollar Round Table, and the Farm Legion of Honor. He is the recipient of several honors and awards including The 2012 Small Business Champion Award from the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, and the State Farm Bronze Tablet Award for Agent Operations Excellence. In addition, Eckerty was a Fellow on the Council of State Governments’ Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development (BILLD), 2012.

President and owner of The Eckerty Management Group LLC, he is a graduate of Ball State University. He and his wife Ronda reside in Yorktown and have two children. They are members of Madison Park Church of God.
