Biography

State Sen. Travis Holdman represents Senate District 19, which is composed of all or portions of: Adams, Blackford, Grant, Huntington, Jay and Wells counties. First elected to the Senate in 2008, Holdman is Chairman of the Senate Committee on Insurance & Financial Institutions, and also serves on the following Senate Committees: Rules & Legislative Procedure, and Tax & Fiscal Policy.

An attorney and former Wells County Deputy Prosecutor, Holdman is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, The University of St. Francis, and Indiana University. He also served on the Wells County Council and is active in many community activities and organizations including the Indiana State Bar Association, Wells County Bar Association, Indiana Department of Financial Institutions, United Way of Huntington County, United Way of Wells County, the Markle Business and Community Association, Huntington County United Economic Development Corporation, Independent Community Bankers of America, Community Bankers Association of Indiana, the Huntington University Board of Trustees, the Huntington University Foundation Board of Directors, and has been a missionary with Project Help in rural Haiti.

Owner of Holdman Consult/Holdman Law, he and his wife Becky have two children and two grandchildren.
